Senior Geologist, VP Exploration
Responsibilities
  • design and manage SGP's exploration programs
  • lead new project generation
  • prepare and manage budgets
  • develop geological and resource models
  • site exploration and production/injection wells
  • manage and build the geological team
Requirements
  • M.Sc. Geology, professional certification status
  • over 10 years proven experience in exploration & development of geothermal resources preferred
  • oil & gas or mining background will be considered
  • strong structural understanding
  • strong geophysical and geological interpretive skills
  • strong computer skills and familiarity with 3D software
  • good multi-task management and reporting skills
Location: Vancouver, BC with expected travel to the United States and project sites

Controller
Responsibilities
  • preparation of monthly non-consolidated and consolidated financial statements for management and external users
  • preparation of budgets and monthly analysis of actual results to budgeted results
  • full cycle accounting
  • spearhead IFRS conversion project in conjunction with CFO
  • key liaison with external auditors
  • preparation of annual CDN and US tax returns
  • various special projects as required
Qualifications and Experience
  • "hands on" and detail - orientated approach
  • public company experience is a plus
  • a professional accounting designation is preferred - CA, CGA or CMA. Minimum 3 years of relevant experience
  • strong working knowledge of CDN GAAP
  • ability to work in demanding, fast-paced and dynamic environment.
  • excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • accustomed to meeting multiple, competing deadline schedules
  • strong computer skills with preference given to individuals with Accpac experience
Location: Vancouver, BC

Wellsite Supervisor
Responsibilities
  • supervise all on site drilling operations
  • manage and maintain safety controls
  • manage AFE budgets and work to reduce drillings costs
  • manage site contractors
  • uphold state and federal regulations
Requirements
  • Engineer or Drilling Technician certification
  • geothermal wellsite supervision preferred
  • oil & gas wellsite experience will be considered
  • strong multi-tasking management and reporting skills
  • proficient computer skills
Location: project sites in Nevada

Wellsite Geologist
Responsibilities
  • log drill cuttings and prepare striplogs while drilling
  • correlate wells with petrophysical logs and geology
  • monitor drilling operations and mitigate drilling challenges
  • construct structural cross-sections
  • work with team members to develop a geological model
Requirements
  • Geology degree (B.Sc.)
  • geothermal-related experience preferred, mining and oil & gas experience will be considered
  • good petrophysical and geological interpretive skills
  • proficient computer skills
Location: project sites in Nevada

Intermediate Level Geologist
Responsibilities
  • execute SGP's exploration programs
  • assist in new project generation
  • prepare exploration budgets
  • develop geological and resource models
  • site exploration and production/injection wells
  • work with team members to develop geological and resource models
Requirements
  • Geology degree (B.Sc.)
  • 5 to 7 years experience in exploration of geothermal resources preferred
  • oil & gas or mining background will be considered
  • good structural understanding
  • good geological interpretive skills
  • proficient computer skills and familiarity with 3D software
  • good multi-task management and reporting skills
Location: Vancouver with travel to projects in Nevada

Entry Level Engineer
Responsibilities
  • assist drilling manager and wellsite supervisors with all drilling activities
  • assist with drilling plans, well design and site preparation
  • logging and well testing
  • budget preparation
  • reporting
Requirements
  • Engineer degree (B.Eng)
  • proficient computer skills
Location: Reno and project sites in Nevada

Entry Level Geologist
Responsibilities
  • log drill cuttings and core, collect water/rock samples for analysis
  • conduct downhole wireline logs, collect shallow temperature probe measurements
  • assist with geophysical and geological surveys
