Sierra Geothermal Power Corporation (SGP) is a renewable energy company, focused on geothermal exploration and development in North America. The company currently holds geothermal leases, or options to leases, on 17 different properties in Nevada and California. These leases extend over more than 88,000 acres (880 sq km) and have a potential generation capacity of more than 400 MW of power.

SGP is actively developing five of these properties. The Reese River, Silver Peak, Wilson and Alum projects are 100% owned and operated by SGP. SGP also holds a 50% interest in the Pumpernickel Valley project. Combined, these projects have the potential to generate between 100 and 205 MW — enough power to supply approximately 80,000 to 168,000 households.

The remaining 12 properties form a robust pipeline that will ensure SGP's continued growth.

About Geothermal Power
Geothermal power is a clean and renewable source of energy that reduces dependency on fossil fuels and foreign energy sources. A geothermal plant continuously delivers power with over 95% reliability. Once developed, geothermal energy provides long-term, stable revenues.

Tapping geothermal resources requires drilling into permeable zones of super-heated water trapped in geothermal reservoirs. Once tapped, these underground reservoirs can provide geothermal plants with water hot enough to generate electricity.

Sierra Geothermal will produce this electricity without producing emissions, using binary plant technology. In binary plants, the hot water is used to vaporize a fluid with a low boiling point through a closed-loop heat exchanger. The vaporized fluid turns a turbine that drives a generator, which produces electricity. The geothermal water is re-injected into the ground.

The geothermal industry creates jobs and provides significant economic benefits to the local economy while producing clean, reliable, sustainable and renewable energy.
