US DOE Aiming to Release $400 Million for Geothermal Power In April

SAN FRANCISCO -(Dow Jones)- The U.S. Energy Department is working to make $400 million in stimulus funds earmarked for development of geothermal power available in the next two weeks, the agency's chief of geothermal energy said Tuesday.
The DOE will solicit a variety of geothermal projects in early April that tap underground heat to produce electricity, said Ed Wall, geothermal program manager at DOE.
