Sierra Geothermal Power Corporation intends to position itself as the forerunner in the acquisition and development of new geothermal resource properties in North America. The company currently holds leases, or options to leases, on 15 different properties in Nevada and California. These leases extend over more than 28,000 hectares (70,000 acres) and have a potential generation capacity of more than 250 MW of power.
